2. Jean² Geandreau (Jean¹ Jeandreau) was born in Cambes, Gironde, France about 1773.⁽¹⁾ According to his marriage record, he was a native of the parish of Cambes, diocese of Bordeaux. Jean died December 7, 1822 in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama, at 49 years of age.⁽²⁾ From the December 9, 1822 Mobile County Register:

Died at his residence near this city on Saturday last, Mr. John Jandreau, formerly of Philadelphia, but for several years past a resident of this place. He was buried yesterday with Masonic honors, accompanied with the ceremonial of the Catholic Church. His body was interred December 8, 1822 in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama.⁽³⁾

He married Marie Louisa Merel in Port-au-Prince, Saint Domingue, September 7, 1795.⁽⁴⁾ Marie was born in Mirebalais, Saint Domingue about 1762.⁽⁵⁾ Her marriage record reports her a native of the parish of St. Louis of Mirebalais, Saint Domingue. Saint Domingue was a French plantation colony in the last part of the 1700's, and is today Haiti. Marie was the daughter of Pierre Merel and Catherine Roubert.

Marie died August 17, 1845 in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama, at 83 years of age.⁽⁶⁾ Her body was interred August 20, 1845 in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama.⁽⁷⁾

3. John³ Geandreau (Jean², Jean¹ Jeandreau) was born about 1805.⁽⁸⁾ It is likely that John was born in Philadelphia. John died August 25, 1834 in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama, at 29 years of age.⁽⁹⁾ His body was interred August 26, 1834 in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama.⁽¹⁰⁾

He married Marguerite Clair Girard in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama, December 14, 1828.⁽¹¹⁾ The marriage was witnessed by Felix Herpin, Francois Girard, and Charles H. Hery.

Marguerite was born about 1803.⁽¹²⁾ Marguerite died April 23, 1835 in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama, at 31 years of age.⁽¹³⁾ Her body was interred April 24, 1835 in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama.⁽¹⁴⁾

John Henry⁴ Geandreau (John³, Jean², Jean¹ Jeandreau) was born in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama about 1829.⁽¹⁸⁾ John died September 8, 1860 in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama, at 31 years of age.⁽¹⁹⁾ He died from abeylis of the throat. His body was interred September 9, 1860 in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama, at Magnolia Cemetery.⁽²⁰⁾ He is buried in Space E1/2, Lot 29, Square 16.

He married Elizabeth Grivet Dorgan in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama, September 23, 1852.⁽²¹⁾ J. H. Geandreau and P. Reardon signed on the marriage bond. The marriage was performed by J. McGarahan.

Elizabeth was born in New York, New York March 29, 1833.⁽²²⁾ Elizabeth was the daughter of John Daniel Dorgan and Adelaide Grivet. Elizabeth died April 2, 1917 in Ennis, Ellis County, Texas, at 84 years of age.⁽²³⁾ Her body was interred in Ennis, Ellis County, Texas, at Myrtle Cemetery.⁽²⁴⁾ The graves are in the Old Addition, Block 19.

John Henry Geandreau and Elizabeth Grivet Dorgan had the following family:

Curtis Geandreau was born in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama about 1857.⁽²⁵⁾ Curtis died February 2, 1930 in Garvin County, Oklahoma, at 72 years of age.⁽²⁶⁾ He died after a brief illness with pneumonia. He had gone to visit W.J. Sears, and on returning home became chilled. His body was interred February 2, 1930 in Garvin County, Oklahoma, at McGee Cemetery.⁽²⁷⁾ He married twice.
He married Martha T. Walker about 1889.⁽²⁸⁾ Martha was born in Tennessee about 1853.⁽²⁹⁾ Martha died before 1922 in Garvin County, Oklahoma. He married Pearlee V. Noriss in Garvin County, Oklahoma, May 31, 1922.⁽³⁰⁾ The marriage records lists Curtis Jandrean, age 64, married P.V. Darnell, age 49, on May 31, 1922.
Pearlee was born in Evening Shade, Sharp County, Arkansas 1870.⁽³¹⁾ Pearlee died October 28, 1930 in Garvin County, Oklahoma, at 60 years of age.⁽³²⁾ Her body was interred in Garvin County, Oklahoma, at McGee Cemetery.⁽³³⁾

5. William A.⁴ Geandreau (John³, Jean², Jean¹ Jeandreau) was born in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama about 1830.⁽³⁴⁾ William died about 1864.⁽³⁵⁾ He died while in the Confederate Army.

He married Euphemia Mary Lassabe in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama, April 28, 1853.⁽³⁶⁾ William A. Geandreau and Roland Boullemet put up the bond for the marriage. They were married by M. McGarahan

Euphemia was born in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama about 1833. Euphemia died May 5, 1893 in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama, at 59 years of age.⁽³⁷⁾ Her body was interred May 5, 1893 in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama, at Magnolia Cemetery.⁽³⁸⁾

William A. Geandreau and Euphemia Mary Lassabe had the following family:

Roland Phillips⁵ Geandreau was born in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama about April, 1854.⁽³⁹⁾ Roland died November 24, 1855 in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama, at 1 year of age.⁽⁴⁰⁾ His body was interred November 25, 1855 in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama, at Magnolia Cemetery.⁽⁴¹⁾ He was buried in plot R8-L73 in Magnolia Cemetery (also noted as Church Street Cemetery). Also listed in that plot is Sarah Feley, wife of Luther Morehouse Feley.

6. Mary Margaret⁴ Geandreau (John³, Jean², Jean¹ Jeandreau) was born in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama January 25, 1833.⁽⁴²⁾ Mary died January 28, 1906 in Frisco City, Monroe County, Alabama, at 73 years of age.⁽⁴³⁾

She married Joseph Waring Baas in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama, May 9, 1855.⁽⁴⁴⁾ Joseph W. Baas and John J. W. Magoffin signed a bond for this marriage. They were married by J.H. Ingraham, Rector, St. John's Episcopal Church in the home of Rowland Baullemet.

Joseph was born in Charleston, Charleston County, South Carolina November 4, 1827. Joseph was the son of Thomas Emanuel Baas and Elize Esther Perry. Joseph died June 2, 1872 in Jones Mill, Alabama, at 44 years of age.

Mary Margaret Geandreau and Joseph Waring Baas had the following family:

14 i. Annie Boomley⁵ Baas was born in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama January 25, 1866. Annie died April 6, 1944 at 78 years of age. She married Robert Pinkney Watts December 14, 1882. Robert was born in Monroe County, Alabama October 12, 1861. Robert died October 10, 1947 at 85 years of age.

15 ii. Edgar Baas was born in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama June 11, 1867. Edgar died February 5, 1945 in Frisco City, Monroe County, Alabama, at 77 years of age. He married Zebra Sawyer February 5, 1890. Zebra was born June 23, 1869. Zebra died August 9, 1967 at 98 years of age.

8. John Griffin⁵ Jandrew (John Henry⁴ Geandreau, John³, Jean², Jean¹ Jeandreau) was born in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama July 9, 1853.⁽⁴⁵⁾ John died July 17, 1934 in Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas, at 81 years of age.⁽⁴⁶⁾ His body was interred in Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas, at Oakland Cemetery.

He married twice. He married Mary Jane Proctor in Gibson County, Tennessee, August 28, 1876.⁽⁴⁷⁾ Mary was born in Trenton, Gibson County, Tennessee August 13, 1857.⁽⁴⁸⁾ Mary was the daughter of P.S. Proctor and Nancy --?--. Mary died December 14, 1887 in Wolfe City, Hunt County, Texas, at 30 years of age.⁽⁴⁹⁾ He married Mary May Reynolds in Wolfe City, Hunt County, Texas, June 27, 1888.⁽⁵⁰⁾ Mary was a school teacher.

Mary was born in Corinth, Alcorn County, Mississippi November 18, 1861.⁽⁵¹⁾ Mary died 1940 in Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas, at 78 years of age. Her body was interred in Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas, at Oakland Cemetery.

John Griffin Jandrew and Mary Jane Proctor had the following family:

9. Mary Louise⁵ Geandreau (John Henry⁴, John³, Jean², Jean¹ Jeandreau) was born in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama June 26, 1856.⁽⁶⁵⁾ Lou died June 7, 1927 in Jack County, Texas, at 70 years of age.⁽⁶⁶⁾ Her body was interred in Cundiff, Jack County, Texas, at Cundiff Cemetery.⁽⁶⁷⁾

She married David Thomas Jarvis in Falls County, Texas, October 23, 1877.⁽⁶⁸⁾ They were married by Jesse Tubb, Minister of the Gospel. Emma Gustin's Family Bible says the marriage was in the presence of W.H. Jarvis and wife.

David was born in Texas August 22, 1856.⁽⁶⁹⁾ David was the son of Thomas Jarvis and Mary Ann Millington. David died June 9, 1919 at 62 years of age.⁽⁷⁰⁾ His body was interred in Cundiff, Jack County, Texas, at Cundiff Cemetery.⁽⁷¹⁾

38 v. Corrie Helen Rogers was born in Falls County, Texas September 1, 1885.⁽⁹⁵⁾ Collar died August 19, 1964 in Dallas County, Texas, at 78 years of age. Her body was interred in Ennis, Ellis County, Texas, at Myrtle Cemetery. She married Jacob A. Hesser, Jr. in Ennis, Ellis County, Texas. Jacob was born in Texas August 1882.⁽⁹⁶⁾ Jacob was the son of Jacob A. Hesser and Charlotte A. --?--. His body was interred in Ennis, Ellis County, Texas, at Myrtle Cemetery.

She married William Monroe Andress in Texas, about 1883. William was born in Alabama March 1, 1864.⁽¹⁰¹⁾ William was the son of Hampton Monroe Andress and Sarah Elizabeth Robbins. William died December 18, 1951 in Austin County, Texas, at 87 years of age.⁽¹⁰²⁾ His body was interred in Bellville, Austin County, Texas, at Oak Knoll Cemetery.⁽¹⁰³⁾

Sixth Generation

16. William Curtis⁶ Jandrew (John Griffin⁵, John Henry⁴ Geandreau, John³, Jean², Jean¹ Jeandreau) was born in Trenton, Gibson County, Tennessee June 30, 1877.⁽¹⁰⁵⁾ William died March 2, 1957 in Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas, at 79 years of age.⁽¹⁰⁶⁾ His body was interred in Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas, at Oakland Cemetery.

He married Francis Burns Nash in Cleburne, Johnson County, Texas, July 20, 1898.⁽¹⁰⁷⁾ They spend their honeymoon in Dallas at the St. George Hotel. They had a brother-in-law in Cleburne who worked for a railroad, and he got a pass to Dallas. Once there, he dressed up as a deputy and went the the room of the newlyweds after dinner and knocked on the door with a series of loud raps. When W.C. opened the door, the brother-in-law stated he had been told that William had abducted a young girl from Cleburne and that he had been sent to arrest him. Finally, he was recognized and they all had a good laugh.

Francis was born in Jefferson, Harrison County, Texas July 24, 1879.⁽¹⁰⁸⁾ Francis died December 27, 1944 in Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas, at 65 years of age. Her body was interred in Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas, at Oakland Cemetery.

William Curtis Jandrew and Francis Burns Nash had the following family:

47 i. Elizabeth⁷ Jandrew was born 1907.⁽¹⁰⁹⁾ Elizabeth died 1907 at less than one year of age.⁽¹¹⁰⁾ She lived only one day.

48 ii. William Curtis Jandrew, Jr. was born March 27, 1909.⁽¹¹¹⁾ William died January 7, 1973 in Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas, at 63 years of age.⁽¹¹²⁾ His body was interred in Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas, at Oakland Cemetery. He married Mary Evelyn Young April 14, 1928.⁽¹¹³⁾ Mary was born August 14, 1910. Mary died August 12, 1983 in Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas, at 72 years of age. Her body was interred in Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas, at Oakland Cemetery.

26. Lillie⁶ Jarvis (Mary Louise⁵ Geandreau, John Henry⁴, John³, Jean², Jean¹ Jeandreau) was born in Falls County, Texas July 11, 1881.⁽¹¹⁴⁾ Lillie died June 3, 1924 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at 42 years of age.⁽¹¹⁵⁾ According the undertaker's records, Lillie died from pellagra. Her body was interred June 4, 1924 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at Riverside Cemetery.⁽¹¹⁶⁾

She married John Hampton Young in Jack County, Texas, February 3, 1901.⁽¹¹⁷⁾ John was born in Denton County, Texas August 7, 1878.⁽¹¹⁸⁾ There is some question about John's birth year. On the 1880 census he was listed as two years old by his father and he had a sibling, Birdine, who was born in December of 1879. These two facts suggest he was likely born in 1878. Birdine apparently did not live to adulthood, so an age comparison in John's adult years cannot be made. On all census reports, John lists his birth year as 1879 and his tombstone bears the 1879 birth year. John was the son of Samuel Young and Nancy Adeline Nix.

John died September 28, 1937 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at 59 years of age.⁽¹¹⁹⁾ The immediate cause of death was listed as hypostatic pneumonia complicated by cancer of the liver.

His body was interred September 29, 1937 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at Riverside Cemetery.⁽¹²⁰⁾

Lillie Jarvis and John Hampton Young had the following family:

49 i. Charlie M.⁷ Young was born in Jack County, Texas November 8, 1903. Charlie died May 25, 1992 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at 88 years of age. His body was interred May 28, 1992 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at Crestview Memorial Park. He married Bessie Irene Marshall in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, August 31, 1924.⁽¹²¹⁾ They were married in Bessie's parent's home by a justice of the peace. When Charlie got married, his father told him he was going to marry out, not in, meaning they weren't going to set up home in his house!
Bessie was born in Silver Lake Community, Van Zandt County, Texas August 30, 1908.⁽¹²²⁾ Bessie was the daughter of James Hardin Levi Marshall and Martha Eula Goolsby. Bessie died November 23, 2000 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at 92 years of age. She passed away on Thanksgiving morning. Her brother passed away about 5 hours later in California. Her body was interred November 25, 2000 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at Crestview Memorial Park.

50 ii. Samuel David Young was born in Jolly, Clay County, Texas November 24, 1912. Samuel died April 1, 2003 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at 90 years of age.⁽¹²³⁾ His body was interred April 4, 2003 in Burkburnett, Wichita County, Texas, at Burkburnett Cemetery.⁽¹²⁴⁾ He married Elizabeth Jane Kolter in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, June 4, 1938. Elizabeth was born in Nowata, Nowata County, Oklahoma January 3, 1917. Elizabeth was the daughter of William Fernand Kolter and Caroline C. Baker. Elizabeth died January 20, 2000 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at 83 years of age. Her body was interred January 22, 2000 in Burkburnett, Wichita County, Texas, at Burkburnett Cemetery.

51 iii. J.T. Young was born in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas February 13, 1917.⁽¹²⁵⁾ J.T. died October 9, 1917 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at less than one year of age.⁽¹²⁶⁾ He died from pernicious anemia, a fatal condition before the 1940's. His body was interred October 10, 1917 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, at Riverside Cemetery.⁽¹²⁷⁾ He is buried a few graves north of his mother's.

She married Harrie C. Gustin in Jack County, Texas, January 12, 1907.⁽¹³⁰⁾ Mr. Harry Guston and Miss Emma Jarvis of Cundiff were married in town last Saturday Judge Stark performing the ceremony. They were accompanied by Miss Ella Jarvis, Melrose Huddleston, Mary Cole, Messrs. John Cole, Frank Reed, and Jeff Winters.

Harrie was born in Missouri January 15, 1885. Harrie was the son of Aberdine Gustin and Eliza Bell Mays. Harrie died November 27, 1908 in Jack County, Texas, at 23 years of age.⁽¹³¹⁾ His body was interred in Montague County, Texas, at Prairie Branch Cemetery.

Billy was born in Markley, Young County, Texas June 25, 1929. Billy died October 3, 1991 in Graham, Young County, Texas, at 62 years of age.

In the 1990's, the cemetery was taken over by the city and merged with Rosemont.
